29 Jul Chino Swingslide Quartet will represent Spain at the European Blues Challenge 2027 in Vila do Conde (Portugal) from 8 to10 April
On July 26th, as part of the Bilbao Blues Festival events, the final of the Volotea Blues Challenge was held to select the band that will represent Spain in the European Blues Challenge 2027
A total of 23 bands applied for the pre-selection process and were evaluated by the Advisory Council, which is made up of blues specialists from across the country. The process was supervised by Barcelona Blues Society. The four selected bands were CHINO SWINGSLIDE QUARTET, DANNY BOY BLUES BAND, COOKIN’ RAW BLUES, and THE UBANGI STOMP, each receiving a €1,000 financial compensation.
Following a 30-minute performance at the Bilbao Blues Festival, the jury selected the winning band: CHINO SWINGSLIDE QUARTET.
They will represent Spain at the European Blues Challenge 2027 and receive €4,000 in financial compensation to support their participation in the EBC 2027.
