Here comes one of the new Music Maker acquisitions, great singer and harmonica player Chicago Bob Nelson, a real institution of East Coast and Chicago blues Bob enjoyed such great honor to play with Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, as member of Hooker’s band which, at that time, was The Coast To Coast Blues Band All recordings Bob has published till now have been done on electric format but, this time, Nelson offers us thirteen incomparable jewels of his most down-home repertoire They are a collection of acoustic songs where he sings and plays harp only backed by Ross ‘Peabody’ Pead on guitar It is then an intimist, relaxed and cool album, full of magic and coming from the deepest part of his heart, where passion prevails over mind reason or perfection The cd goes further up tradition and folk, to keep it deeply inside your soul as an ancestor liturgy I am convinced that, if you buy this album, it will not lie inside a drawer You will listen to it again and again
