Powerful southern soul singer Charles Wilson grew up in Chicago When he was only seven years old he started to make his first steps in music In his teenager days he began to go to Chicago blues clubs, taking in a microphone and singing whenever he could do it However the big opportunity came to him thanks to singer, guitarist, harmonica player and showman Bobby Rush His first single was released in 1964 and, since then on, he has enjoyed a non-stop career Charles Wilson has recorded for different labels like Ichiban, Ecko, Severn and many others If you are still not familiar with him, listen to this fantastic album and you will immediately realize this impressive and heartbreaking singer has talent enough to let you pleasantly surprised with his tenor qualities All music and arrangements of the eleven album songs are full of a delightful elegance, an amazing strength but, especially performed with a real conviction The production is also superb and horn arrangements have not a single bad note on them Probably we are facing the best recording till now in the career of this unique high quality singer called Charles Wilson who is now in his full creative maturity
