Cee Cee James is one of the actual candidates to get the surname of ‘The New Queen of Rock-Blues’ and possibly if she follows on this good line, she will full get it Cee Cee has a powerful vocal register in the path of Janis Joplin and she knows it and takes advantage of these qualities in her own benefit The true thing is Cee Cee gives a powerful performing full of a passionate feeling, thanks to the songs she gives us, that range from blues to southern rock roots and some Stax details All songs included are Cee Cee James own ones, written in collaboration with her husband and band guitarist Rob ‘Slideboy’ Andrews who, with a clever vision has selected the most suitable music to make her shine at a very high level The band includes Cee Cee James vocals, Rob Andrews guitar and slide, Chris Leighton drums and percussion and Dan Mohler bass, besides two great guest musicians, Rocky Athas guitar and Susan Julian keyboards Cee Cee James feels good and manages to produce an album with nine vibrant, sweeping, very personal and honest songs
