Along his forty years of career Catfish Keith has devoted himself to study and deeply investigate into the ancient roots of rural Mississippi blues, from Delta blues to old time country or gospel, getting back to life old compositions, from unknown traditional tunes to those songs coming from Big Bill Broonzy, Jessie Mae Hemphill, Johnny Shines, Blind Blake, Furry Lewis, Bo Carter, The Nassau String Band or The Carter Family among many other old times artists This is his eighteenth album and includes thirteen songs that combine own compositions with versions of ancient blues Only backed by his variety of guitars, Catfish performs this repertoire with an amazing elegance, modulating and adapting his voice to the each song lyrics content and background Undoubtedly we are facing an outstanding artists in terms of knowledge and study of pre-war rural blues, old blues songs that in his hands and voice get a new strength and a dimension that goes further up to survive in these new times we are now living
