Many musicians dream to make a comfortable living only playing their music. Most times it is not possible, like in the case of Cassius King who, to get the necessary earnings for himself and his family, put his dream aside and, for about twenty-five years has worked hard as sound engineer and production manager for some of the greatest artists in music business. But this has not stopped Cassius to compose songs and play in his spare time, hoping that one day his dream would come true.

Now time has come and Cassius has just released a debut EP with five songs, four originals and the cover “If You Love Me (Like You Say)” coming from Johnny Taylor, all of them framed into the most genuine blues, which confirm the experience King has treasured after those long years of work in countless studios, recordings, productions and projects.

Cassius King is on keyboards and vocals, backed by a group of excellent West Coast musicians like Chalo Ortiz on guitar, Chris White on bass and J.R. Lozano on drums who, together with producer and Grammy winner Dave Darling, make this EP become a distinguished and interesting presentation of an artists who really deserves listeners’ attention. Let’s hope he will go on and continue his career as a musician.
