California blues scene never ends to surprise good fans, offering them new and amazing surprises This time, it introduces us a promising new woman, only aged twenty-five and called Casey Hensley She was on stage for the first time when she was only five years old and at nine she went to a recording studio During her childhood and teenager years she discovered and was caught by artists like Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin or The Temptations among many others, that showed her the way Casey cleverly added something of each one to her raw, explosive, passionate and expressive voice Three own compositions and eight electrifying versions round up an album where, besides Casey Hensley on vocals, it becomes a real pleasure to find Laura Chavez’s superb guitar playing, as well as Johnny Viau on sax, Mark C on bass and Evan Caleb Yearsley on drums This is a great recording where jump blues and some balsamic rockin’ blues come together in a savoury well cooked dish If you need a good dose of adrenaline to feel good and be ready to begin you work with a renewed energy, this is your cd Do not miss it!!
