Everyone who has had the opportunity to see her live (in my case at Benicassim Blues Festival), know well that on stage Casey Hensley is a whirlwind, an unleashed force of nature, also gifted with an spectacular voice that leaves audiences completely stunned This is her first album for Richard Rosenblat’s label Vizztone Records, and it has been a real good start as sales have grown exponentially Although Casey started in music as an opera student, she soon was caught by the blues, which allowed her to express all the passion and fire she is able to communicate The album includes nine songs, where Hensley is surrounded by the always excellent Laura Chavez on guitar, who has co-produced the album with Casey Hensley, Marcos C on bass, Evan Caleb Yearsley (son of the late Candye Kane) on drums and a special collaboration of a horn section with Jonny Viau and Steven Ebner, who bring a good dose of swing, color and joy So, pay attention to Casey Hensley, because I have the feeling she will give people much to talk about in a not very distant future
