The Northern California scene has much to celebrate with the release of Carmen Ratti and Jill Dineen’s latest recording, “Come To Me”. Following the success of his previous album, which garnered Ratti both national and international acclaim, this new one aims to solidify his standing in the global market.
Founded in 2018, the Carmen Ratti Band quickly earned a stellar reputation, thanks to their explosive stage presence and a distinctive sound that blends blues and roots music, developed with genuine authenticity and expertise knowledge.
Recorded at Kid Andersen’s prestigious Greaseland Studios in San Jose, California, the album perfectly captures the group’s raw energy and creativity. The repertoire shows a variety of colors and seamlessly integrates elements of soul, gospel, rock-blues, and funk. A standout track is “Blessing In The Blues”, co-written with Jill Dineen, which becomes a masterclass of modern gospel.
The chemistry between Carmen and Jill is flawless. Under Kid Andersen’s expertise production, every track shines as a brilliant example of contemporary blues. The record confirms Ratti as one of today’s most outstanding guitar players, boasting an incendiary yet elegant tone defined by a remarkable groove and power. On the other hand, Jill Dineen, -who joined the band in 2019- proves she is an unbelievable and formidable singer with a voice that is as captivating as it is soulful and emotionally charged.
Both artists are seasoned veterans, well-established at the Bay Area music scene. It is now our turn to savor the impressive sound, technical prowess, and expressive force of this fabulous band which features Carmen Ratti on guitar and vocals, Jill Dineen on vocals, Tony “Macaroni” Lufrano on organ and piano, Steve Hazlewood on bass and Randy Hayes on drums, which will surprise more than one.
