Led by versatile musician Budda Guedes, the Portuguese group Budda Power Blues Band brings us his last work Back To Roots The band was formed in 2005 with the only purpose to serve as a source of expression for their members, getting far away of the musical industry interests However, they soon realized their potential and the growing demand of public, so they evolved to a more professional proposal They started to play more regularly, as well as recording several albums and also became the backing band of Shirley King’s European tours (BB King’s daughter) Today they are requested all over Portugal as well as touring internationally In this last work, the band has decided to display an eclectic repertoire that mostly includes power rock blues, together with some classic blues and folk with Portuguese influences, which make us realize the variety and impact of this group Budda Guedes does an excellent work on vocals, guitar, bass, mandolin, ukelele, Fender Rhodes and percussion, well surrounded by Nico Guedes on drums, congas, percussion and backing vocals and Carl Minnemann on bass, double bass and backing vocals, with the special collaboration of Dani del Toro on harmonica, Wolfram Minnermann on piano and Glandum Galundaina on vocals, percussion and flute, each in one song This is an album that combines with good quality and in equal parts experimentation, technique and tradition VERY
