Bruce Katz is a piano and organ player virtuoso who is able to play not only blues but also jazz, boogie-woogie or even classic music Katz has been four times nominated to the Blues Music Awards and now, together with the excellent singer and guitarist Chris Vitarello, Ralph Rosen on drums and backing vocals, Jimmy Bennet on guitar and lap steel and Peter Bennet on bass, bring us an album with eleven gems full of an enormous sound beauty These five musicians have been playing together for about ten long years and this musical union makes them sound compact and teamed, as they walk in the same direction The recording includes eleven original Bruce and Chris own songs, that show their determination to combine virtuosity with feeling, deep emotion and a personal sound full of vitality and dynamism that comes from the deepest blues tradition and gradually moves to other most actual colourful fields along the musical line they have chosen Each one of the eleven cd songs communicate the whole essence of black music with an accurate confidence and, in this way, surprise all listeners, on the basis of a huge creativity and an harmonious modulation of their speech, but always keeping the essence of the most genuine blues
