As the title suggests, the last recording coming from piano and keyboard player Bruce Katz explores the connections among the styles which, over the years, have influenced him most, such as blues, roots music, soul or jazz. Not in vain Bruce was been for years member of Gregg Allman’s band as well as other similar groups, which has given him a huge eclecticism to attack his repertoire.

In recent years Bruce has mostly devoted himself to play blues and he has also been nominated to some of the most important blues awards. Now he comes back with a new recording leading and excellent band with Bruce himself on piano, Hammond-B3 and organ, Aaron Lieberman on vocals and guitar and Liviu Pop on drums, plus the collaboration of Shaun Oakley on bass in three songs. All of them show the wide range of possibilities and the variety of colors they are able to print to the whole album.

Eleven songs give shape to this interesting recording, nine of them coming from Bruce himself and two by guitar player Aaron Lieberman. “Connections” is a glamorous, exciting and really cool album which will make listeners dance, thanks to the rhythm and sounds coming from a perfect mixture of soul-jazz, groove and blues Bruce Katz tasteful cooks on a spontaneous reliable way.
