Almost an hour of traditional acoustic music in the path of last century twenties and thirties old ‘jug bands’, as used to be performed at picnics, ‘minstrel shows’ or ‘fish fries’, but also with some influences of Mexican folklore, half way to traditional folk songs and ‘tex-mex’ Brotherhood of the Jug Band Blues do all those styles of music with joy and a cool style, putting a great dose of soul and feeling that cover their weaknesses as instrumentalists The group is habitual in the subway in New York, where they play regularly for some money, but you can also find them in festivals, clubs or private parties where they are booked The band members are Ernesto ‘Lovercat’ Gómez vocals, harmonica, percussion music case and guitar, Arthur ‘The Jugman’ on vocals, jug and harmonica, Steve Strohmeier guitar, kazoo, harmonica and vocals and Eli ‘Sweet Son’ Smith vocals, washboard and ‘manjo’ (half banjo and half mandolin instrument) A festive cd coming from the outskirts of town, whose main purpose is take you to a musical journey through deep south country, at the early decades of last century
