Born in Italy, guitar player and singer Breezy Rodio decided to settle in USA, moving to Chicago in early 2000. Once he was familiar with the city, he totally immersed himself in the music of fifties and sixties great blues masters like Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy or Elmore James among many others. For a decade he was guitar player in Lindsey Alexander’s band and in 2011 he released his first solo album, that led him to sign with Delmark Records in 2018, which gave him a wider recognition and the possibility to gain popularity among foreign countries aficionados.

This new recording has been produced by Anson Funderburgh and features fourteen Breezy Rodio’s own compositions, Anson has accurately defined as “Chicago West Side Modern Blues”, a good definition if we stick to how I would also have described them. Breezy Rodio is on vocals and guitar, while Daniel C. Tabion is on piano and organ, Josh Fulero on harmonica and Lorenzo Francocci on drums

All musicians perfectly complement each other and form a compact team, offering a good song selection with varied and rhythmic tempos, like shuffles, jump, boogie, funky-blues or soul. An album you certainly will love to slowly and carefully listen to it.
