Singer, harmonica and occasional guitar player Brandon Santini was born in Piedmont region of North Carolina, although in 2003 he decided to move to Memphis. It was there that he started to get a name, playing regularly in most Beale Street clubs. He began a solo career in 2009 and recorded his first album in 2011. From 2018 he settled in Springfield, Illinois, where he matured as a musician achieving a distinctive sound that mixes the most traditional blues with American roots music, developed with energy and a contemporary style, often rough and straightforward, that leaves no one indifferent.
For this album Brandon Santini has come back to Memphis, specifically to the High/Low Studios where he has recorded these eleven songs co-produced by his good friend Jeff Jensen, together with the band musicians who usually back him on tours. Brandon composed all the songs during the pandemic, and they also capture the rawness and restrained rage, together with a wrapping rhythm that both the band musicians and he communicate on stage, that make them be a band which, although they do not have an ounce of sophistication, in their performing they always bring a good dose of honesty, good technique and strength.
Brandon Santini is on vocals, harmonica and rhythm guitar, together with Jeff Jensen and Timo Arthur on electric and acoustic guitars, Cliff Moore on bass, Ron James on drums and Jesse James David on backing vocals. VERY GOOD.
