With a real big pleasure I have just received Brad Vickers & His Vestapolitans’ sixth album with eleven songs that will let you discover the music they really love and has influenced them, such as blues, folk, jump or roots American roll The cd combines own compositions with a few versions like Worried Life Blues coming from Big Maceo Merriweather or Close Together by Jimmy Reed, all them with good semi-electric arrangements After these years of career the band has established as one of the most reliable ones of actual blues scene, always surrounding their leader Brad Vickers who is on guitar and vocals, together with Margey Peters on bass, Jim Davis on tenor sax and Bill Rankin on drums For the recording they have counted with excellent guests like Charlie Burnham on violin, Dave Gross and Dean Shot on guitars, Mickey Junior on harmonica and vocals and Dave Keyes on piano and organ together with producer VD King who brings all his technical knowledge and adds some other instruments to the recording The result is a relaxing very pleasant to listen album that will satisfy the expectations of most fans of roots blues filled with many colors and nuances, ready to be discovered
