From Bilbao come the Botxo Boogies to make us dance and enjoy with their songs that communicate big doses of joyful swing, spiced with blues, West Coast jump and rhythm & blues. Four experienced musicians, all them with a long career behind their backs, form this interesting band with Edu Basterra on bass and vocals, Jou González on tenor sax, clarinet and vocals, Carlos Velasco on guitars and vocals and Iñaki Jaio on drums and vocals. Although there are only four musicians they manage to develop the sound of 40’s big bands with tributes to artists like Louis Jordan in songs like “Caldonia” or “Choo Choo ChBoogie”, but they also dare with other tunes such as “My Baby Just Cares for Me” popularized by Nina Simone and even “Buona Sera” or “Jum Jive An’ Wail” that pay homage to Louis Prima. A good chosen repertoire always faithful to the style they practice which has pleasantly surprised us for the band quality, natural spontaneity and good work. Although they do not play often in the rest of Spain, the twelve songs that make up this album become a good example of this band excellent contribution to the actual music scene. An album that really deserves you get a copy to enjoy it again and again.
