Born in Drew, Mississippi during the fifties, Boo Boo Davis is one of those bluesmen which today can be rarely found, who performs traditional electric postwar blues, without allowance to blues-rock or other fireworks devoted to the gallery. His style drinks from sixties and seventies Chicago blues sources, based on a personal dynamic display, mostly with own compositions, although on live shows he usually plays some covers too.

From Mississippi, Davis moved to Sant Louis where he began to play drums backing other blues musicians. Afterwards he founded his own band that included his two brothers John and S.L. Davis and he started to sing and play harmonica. Together they devoted themselves to play all over Sant Louis area and, it was not until 1999, when Davis recorded his first album.

In this new recording he now publishes, Boo Boo Davis presents ten own compositions deeply connected to the most genuine and sincere blues, where he is backed by LA Jones on guitar, Paul Niehaus IV on keyboards, Adrianna Marie on bass and Chris Millar on drums.

As Boo Boo Davis himself says about the album blues content “You ain’t gonna find nobody to do it like me”. With this sentence Boo Boo already defines everything as, although it may seem an idle boast, I leave listeners to check for themselves.
