If there is a musician who represents the essence of the most genuine soul, blues and black music, he undoubtedly is Bobby Rush. Despite he was born in 1933, Rush is still active and in a very good shape, and this album totally confirms it.

Throughout his long career, Rush has received countless awards and recognitions, winning two Grammys, sixteen Blues Music Awards and getting a prominent place at the Blues Hall of Fame.

Now he publishes his 29th album recorded in studio, which travels along the paths of southern soul, blues and funk-blues, the most representative styles of his musical baggage. But Bobby Rush is also a great storyteller, explaining stories about love and human relationships, mostly employing humoristic tricky metaphors so, sometimes, his songs become funny and hot, always depending on listeners’ sense of humor.

The album presents ten songs that are a good example of Rush’s personal stamp on vocals, harmonica and guitar, backed by Joey Robinson on keyboards and drums and Dexter Allen on guitar and bass, as well as a powerful straight horn section which enhance Rush’s genuine songs. You will also find a good number of very professional studio musicians along the whole recording.
