Although he was born in Washington, DC, musician and producer Bobby Gentilo has worked over the years with many of the best artists in Clarksdale, and Mississippi area like Terry “Harmonica” Bean, T-Model Ford, “Cadillac” John Nolden, R.L. Boyce, or the late Big Jack Johnson. With his group, The Cornlickers, have also been home band of the famous juke joint Red’s Lounge in the center of Clarksdale.

Now Bobby Gentilo releases his debut album with the simple title of “Gentilo” with ten songs that cover styles like the most sophisticated and contemporary Mississippi electric blues, funk or soul. The result is a fresh juicy album, full of groove and dynamism.

For this project Bobby Gentilo has surrounded himself with a series of able effective musicians especially precise in rhythm, beat, tempo and creativity, such as drummers Jason Hoffheins, Dale Wise, Christy Engel and Juan Guillermo Aguilar, this last one on percussion, bass players Tony Ryder and Alex Degnan, keyboard player Benjie Porecki, Aaron R. Lewis on harmonica, Logan Kurtek on baritone sax and flute and finally Bobby Gentilo on guitar, vocals, bass, moog, drums and percussion.
