Born on a plantation in Winterville, Mississippi, when he was only seven years old Bobby G worked in the cotton fields After his daily hard work, Bobby devoted himself to listen and learn from musicians like BB King, Mississippi Slim or Bobby Bland His life was sad and he wished for a better one until, one day, his uncles came to visit them and Bobby asked if he could go to the north with them, In Toledo, Bobby worked during the day and at night he sang in local clubs but in the 80’s he retired from music to take care of his son, coming back with renewed energies at the end of the 90’s Johnny Rawls saw his possibilities and helped him to consolidate his career After the success of his first recording Still Standing, Third Street Cigar Records now publishes his second album with ten excellent songs coming from Johnny Rawls, some of them in collaboration with L Francis Johnny Rawls and John Henry have also been responsible of the whole final production The result is an excellent album that cleverly and tastefully combines soul and blues in equal parts Surrounded by very professional musicians who give a personal stamp and character to each of the album songs, Bobby reveals himself as a very interesting singer to be taken into account
