Known as “a keyboard wizard”, Bob Malone gives us two cds, the first one “Mojo Deluxe” released in 2015 and his last and new one “Good People”. Born in New Jersey in 1966, Bob was adopted by a family where he started to play piano at the age of nine. In his teenager years he was passionate by rock music, studying bassoon and tuba and, later on, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he revealed himself not only as an excellent keyboardist but also as a remarkable composer and vocalist. For two decades he has been keyboardist for John Fogerty’s Band and at the same time he has developed an interesting solo career. Now Bob Malone combines his excellent musical composition with a colorful varied sound that mixes the rock energy with contemporary blues, as well as the most melodic piano touch you can imagine in some of his pop-cut ballads. And, if that was not enough, together with the hot gumbo rhythms of New Orleans you will also find all the feeling of rhythm & blues or jazz. His personal and particular voice prints character and personality to every song included in these two cds (twelve in the first one and eleven in the second one). In both albums Bob Malone is backed by a remarkable cast of musicians like Bob Demarco on guitars, Jeff Dean on bass, Stan Behrers on harmonica, Kenny Aronof or Mike Baird on drums, as well as The Malonettes’ backing vocals support, to mention only a few ones. All performers do a spectacular performing as they are high class musicians, something you will discover listening to these two recordings. Both CDs have an excellent production taking care of the smallest details, which will allow us to immediately appreciate in all its value, the quality of this keyboard wizard that undoubtedly will bewitch more than one.
