Blues Noir is a band led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Peter Corrigan, who for years has been responsible of the band sound and also has done all management tasks. His love for blues comes from his earliest youth, when he discovered that generation of British blues bands like The Yardbirds and the Rolling Stones and curiously, the songs that most impressed him were the blues ones these two groups played. When he heard these same songs played by their original performers such as Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Jimmy Rogers, and Howlin’ Wolf, then his obsession for this music became pathological and he never again could get out of its influence. Peter has spent many years in the music business, because he started his career during the 1970’s, being an important member of the Rochester, New York, bluesy community where he used to live. This work follows the same path of his previous album “Blues, Swing, And…”, that is to say Chicago blues, swing and Texas blues, with suitable sweet melodic electric and acoustic guitar arrangements, as well as a good dose of sympathy by all the musicians, something that is always greatly appreciated.
