With great sadness I write the review of the last album the Belgian group Blues Karloff, as band leader and singer Alfie Falckenbach passed away last March Alfie was a great enthusiast of heavy-rock and blues, contributing since the early nineties to introduce these styles among young Belgian audiences He did a tireless work at Music Avenue record company and especially in its label Blues Boulevard, publishing countless recordings both of American artists like Memphis Slim, Junior Wells, Billy Boy Arnold, Lucky Peterson, Mud Morganfield, Corey Harris, Albert King, Elvin Bishop and many others, as well as many European artists and bands In 2015 Alfie received the ‘Blues Behind Scenes’ award by the European Blues Union in recognition of his tireless work to promote this musical style This album becomes a posthumous tribute to Alfie Falckenback, but also recognizes the excellent work of his band and the guest musicians who, along the thirteen album songs, display a powerful, hard, straightforward sound, with good doses of powerful solos by guitar players Paul Shorty Van Camp and Thomas Vanhaute
