Blue Moon Marquee is an original duo coming from the Rocky Mountains in Canada They write their own songs and perform them with influences of early blues, swing and ragtime AW Cardinal has a fat rough broken voice, which remains those ones of big smokers and whisky drinkers He also plays guitar, full of bright bluesy and jazzy flashes, while Jasmine Colette, aka Badlands Jass, sings and is on backing vocals on a few songs, but especially provides the best support on upright bass and puts a strong strength marking the rhythm with both feet Both musicians sound very convincing and precise and their musical influences come from Tom Waits to Lonnie Johnson, Memphis Minnie, Skip James or Django Reinhardt Besides their funny staging, the way they display their songs makes them become a unique and singular duo, half way between the comical and the melodramatic This is their third album that captures with mathematical precision their particular vintage sound together with the special cool atmosphere that comes from those twelve unclassifiable own songs they give us which, undoubtedly, will surprise more than one listener
