Here comes the third recording by Blue Moon Marquee, a duo with AW Cardinal on vocals and guitar and Jasmine Colette known in musical circles as Badlands Jass, on bass and drums Settled at the West Coast, both have deep influences from musicians like Lonnie Johnson, Charley Patton, Howlin’ Wolf, Blind Willie McTell, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins or Memphis Minnie, although their music also includes vigorous jazz details coming from Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt or even Tom Waits The album presents eleven own compositions where the duo are backed by some reputed West Coast side musicians such as Darcy Phillips on piano and Hammond B-3, Jerry Cook to tenor, baritone sax and clarinet, Jimmy Hollywood Badger on drums Jack Garton on trumpet and Paul Pigat on guitar in the song The Red Devil Himself The result is a very well displayed repertoire with solid arrangements that match with all songs musical character that, on one side remain relaxing and intimate but the same time get a suggestive and hypnotic air The album was totally recorded in an analog way to get those vintage sound of 50’s jazz and blues
