Here is a band coming from the eastern side of Memphis with their musical roots deeply anchored in the southwest Virginia bluegrass tradition The music The Blue Highway bring us from those mountains is really cool and refreshing like a breath of air with no pollution The band’s major contribution to the kind of music they play is the excellent vocal arrangements and the mandoline as main instrument in some of the cd tunes The songs lyrics are old stories from people who lived on those Virgina mountains in 1800 Musical arrangements are deeply influenced by sixties and seventies groups like Crosby, Still, Nash & Young Although it is not a blues cd, I can say it is a good Americana music cd with different XIX century white music influences
