If you like raw visceral blues, I am sure you will madly love the new work of songwriter, singer, and harmonica player Blas Picón, who is always perfectly backed by his usual Junk Express with Reginald Vilardell on drums and Oscar Rabadán on guitars Blas has a wide musical knowledge on his back and his blues knowledge is unlimited Some years ago Picón bet hard for this project and now he feels totally relaxed and very comfortable with a sound that sometimes reminds Mississippi Country Hill music Well supported by Oscar and Regi, who give the perfect counterpoint to Blas’ voice and his amplified or acoustic harmonica sound, our man blow some original phrasings filled with a bright intensity As I said before, if you like hard appetizing blues, sometimes spectacular and frenetic and other times hypnotic, properly based and very close to the listener, then be sure the stylistic rawness of the blues this trio plays will passionately catch you on a way that, without noticing it, you will become immersed in a loop where it will be very difficult to get out alive, unharmed and safe
