After carving out a successful solo career, piano player Lluís Coloma has joined forces with another Barcelona blues scene heavyweight, harmonica player, drummer and singer Blas Picon, who in this album only acts as a singer and harmonica player The other band members are the habitual Lluis Coloma’s drummer and bass player, Marc Ruiz and Manolo German As you may see the band does a repertoire with no guitar, something not so common for a blues group, but the result is totally satisfying Both musicians are perfectly teamed and leave us some fine pearls such as Blas’ own songs Cheer Me Up, Dead Dreams or Bottled Love Baby, together with classics like Roosevelt Sykes’ 44 Blues or Built For Comfort and Tell That Woman both by Willie Dixon The album was recorded in Blas Picon’s own bar, The Honky Tonk Blues Bar in Barcelona An excellent album whose liner notes have been written by no other than James Harman himself!
