Billy T is a self made musician born in New York who has worked hard to get a name For twelve years he was member of Eddie Kirkland’s band and afterwards he spent ten years with Tom Russell’s band In 1997 Billy settled in Oslo, Norway It was there he decided to form his own band playing as house band at Muddy Waters Blues Club in Oslo for about seven years This gave him the opportunity to perform with great musicians and get a wide experience backing such greal bluesmen like Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith, Homesick James, Gary Primich, Mitch Kashmar, Junior Watson, Tad Robinson, Alex Schultz, Nappy Brown, Louisiana Red or Kid Andersen among others Since 2003 the band musicians have been the same ones, with Billy T on bass and vocals, Ian Fredrick Johannessen and Haakon Hoeye on guitars and Robert Alexander Pettersen on drums The cd also gathers a variety of good players, from a string section with violins, viola and cello to sax, trumpet and vocal arrangements The album surprises us with a repertoire that moves from soul to Americana music, blues or swamp rock This is an attractive balsamic recording with own compositions and elegant harmonies full of a beautiful lyricism
