Billy Price’s “Random Madness” becomes a fantastic evidence of musical maturity, that consolidates him as one of the most respected vocalists in soul-blues music.

Produced by Grammy winner Tony Braunagel, the album seamlessly weaves together genres like rhythm & blues, soul, gospel and jazz. Backed by the flawless Billy Price Band, the artist delivers eleven original compositions he has co-written with Jim Britton. The recording stands out for its musical dynamism, opening with the high-energy “I Was A Fool” and flowing into Latin rhythms in “Stickers On My Suitcase”. The instrumental richness shines in poignant tracks like “Dirty Knee Revelation”, backed by a gospel choir and a sharp horn section. The climax comes with the melancholic and introspective title track, “Random Madness”, which features a blistering solo by jazz trumpet player Sean Jones.

With witty lyrics, sharp sense of humor and spot-on social observations, Billy Price delivers a deeply personal and honest recording, where he perfectly balances the blues pain with instrumental warmth. It is certainly one of the most consistent and gripping works of his career. From these lines, I would like to give him my congratulations for delighting us with such a beautiful, well-crafted and magnificently produced album.
