Billy Price is a prominent blues and soul singer. During the seventies he was vocalist in Roy Buchanan’s band. He later began a solo career leading his own group. In addition to a good number of nominations, in 2016 he was winner of Blues Music Awards as best soul artist for his album “This Time For Real” he recorded with Otis Clay.

With Jim Pugh as manager director, Little Village Foundation is a non-profit record company founded in 2015, which goal is to keep alive black music flame by releasing albums by high class artists who may not be well known among general audiences, but who have quality enough to be at the front line and be appreciated in all their worth.

Little Village Foundation now publishes this album with thirteen Billy’s own compositions he has written or co-written with other musicians. The recording has been produced by Tony Braunagel who, after he came to see him perform live, realized his qualities and immediately got involved in the project.

Braunagel has selected a cast of excellent musicians like Jim Pugh on keyboards, Larry Fulchner, Reggie McBride and James “Hutch” Hutchinson on bass, Tony Braunagel on drums, Shane Theriot, Josh Sklair and Johnny Lee Schell on guitars, Lenny Castro on percussion, along with a horn section formed by Eric Spaulding, Mark Pender and Ron Dziubla, with the special collaboration on Joe Bonamassa in the song “Change Your Mind,” a tribute to the memory of Roy Buchanan. Also mention the song “Mercy”, a soul ballad with gospel influences where Billy shows all his vocal skills.

An excellent recording that confirms Little Village Foundation commendable work to present albums like this one for fans’ pleasure and joy.
