Singer and guitar player Bill Lyerly has been an unexpected discovery. Both cds have not a single bad track on them and Bill shows himself as a complete versatile and tasteful musician. He is a powerful performer with a mastery musical vision, not only as singer and guitar player but also as songwriter and producer. There is no catch on these two cds, because they are two real blues records with some southern rock, American roots and some old rock and roll influences. Bill is a veteran of music business and his wide musical experience has led him to work with such well-known musicians and bands like Gregg Allman, Eric Burdon, Hank Ballard, Nappy Brown, Bo Diddley, Rick Nelson, Leon Russell, Levon Helm, John Lee Hooker, Tha Fabulous Thunderbrids or Roomful Of Blues among other important names he has collaborated with along his wide musical career and the long years he has been ‘on the road’. If you like large-bore blues based on serious solid latin basis, The Bill Lyerly Band will certainly become one of your favourite bands.
