Most of Bill Johnson’s childhood went on in Vancouver island There one of his teachers discovered his gift for music and he managed to give him an electric guitar His older brother was a big blues fan of blues so deeply influenced his musical tastes Living on a country place in the middle of an island, Bill did not have many opportunities to develop his career, so he moved to Calgary where he began to play at The King Edward Hotel club, replacing different band guitar players when they could not come to play This gave him the opportunity to play with the most recognized bluesmen and develop a wide blues knowledge When he was just starting to get some success he had to come back to Vancouver to take care of his very sick parents It was not until about year 2006 where he was able to come back to the music and start to develop his projects In 2012 he received several awards but again misfortune came to him and he had to stop his career to take care of his wife who was diagnosed with cancer Fortunately she recovered so now he brings us his fourth work with a handful of tasteful own songs As usual Bill moves along the blues with a precise elegance, thanks to his innovative and clever performing both on guitar and vocals Backed by a faultless wisdom band, they manage to turn this album into one of the most interesting blues ones recorded this year in Canada
