Singer and guitar player Bill Blue learned all guitar and blues secrets playing with legendary bluesman Arthur Big Boy Crudup in countless gigs and tours After Crudup’s death in 1974, Bill Blue began his own solo career that led him to travel all over the world Tired of road life, in the 80’s he settled in Florida living on a boat house for twenty-five years until a casual meeting with British producer Ian Shaw brought him back to music in year 2013, releasing an album entitled Mojolation This new recording shows an artist in his full creative maturity, not only as a singer but also as a guitar player He is cleverly backed by a large roster of musicians which includes some of the best instrumentalists of Florida area, like guitar and harmonica player Matt Backer who has played with Joe Cocker, Emmylou Harris, Elton John or Julian Lennon among others A greased horn section provides a right lively dose of swing, with a really flexible performing but at the same time without unnecessary fanfare that tarnish the final result of this more than interesting recording It is always a real pleasure to rediscover vintage musicians with a special character who with renewed energies and undeniable quality join back to actual blues and music new times
