    Valoración: VERY GOOD

A relaxed calm album to celebrate the twenty-five years Big Mama Montse has been completely dedicated to spread the blues around For this special occasion she has recruited an All Stars band, formed by musicians and teachers of Taller de Músics in Barcelona, which guarantees a high quality level The twelve songs included come from various performers and different composers of Afroamerican music, such as Fats Domino, Sam Cooke, Roosvelt Sykes, Big Bill Broonzy, Dough McLeod, Taj Mahal or Bessie Smith among others As it can be easily imagined, you will find a colourful program with a beautiful chromatic sound done by a bunch of skilled musicians and a perfectly teamed voice, which do not take unnecessary risks The distinctive well pitched Big Mama’s voice is perfectly backed by Riqui Sabatés guitar, Alejandro Di Costanzo, piano and keyboards, David Pastor trumpet, Aljosa Mutiç tenor saxo, Isaac Coll bass and Xavi Maureta drums An ambitious album, with a good production and a faultless sound, where everything sounds good, thanks to the great job by everybody involved in the cd, although, in my opinion, the album lacks of some lively power and communicative strenght It’s just a personal and subjective appreciation and, of course, people could not agree and think I am not right ‘Errarem humanum est’
