Good qualification to an excellent singer and harmonica player greatly influenced by deep Delta blues and specially by musicians like Big Joe Williams, Bukka White, Furry Lewis, James ‘Son’ Thomas and Junior Kimbrough Joe Shelton has soaked himself of those great bluesmen and his music clearly reflects it among many other things because he also knows Chicago blues well During the sixties he moved to the ‘Windy City’ where he went regularly to different blues clubs and became familiar with Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and other South Side and Maxwell Street blues aces Big Joe Shelton has included fifteen own songs in this new cd, selecting a bunch of good musicians who do a perfect work to produce a genuine orthodox blues record
