Thanks to a rehearsal meeting near Paris to bring out a blues repertoire, guitar player Phil Fernández and bass player Lamine Guerfi, founded the group Big Dez in 1996. Now the band includes Phil and Lamine, plus Paco ‘Lefty Hand’ on guitar, Guillaume Destarac on drums, Marc Schaeller on harmonica and Léa Worms on keyboards.

This is their tenth work and has been recorded in Paco Lefty Hand’s house and mixed in Chicago. The album gathers ten Phil’s own compositions that clearly define the band style, a style where actual contemporary blues prevail, and could be defined as a firmly built and well developed electric blues with a good dose of funk, soul and rock ‘n’ roll, performed with a great feeling, whose lyrics mix in equal parts humor and melancholy. The band has reached a straight effective sound that can be compared to the one of many American bands and, in their live shows, they reach a spectacular infectious climax that overflows the expectations of all the people who listen to them for the first time.

Thanks to the collaboration between Cahors Blues Festival (France) and Benicassim Blues (Spain), Big Dez will play in the last one when both festivals come back to their normal activities.
