David “Big Dave” Reniers is one of the most reputed and charismatic harmonica players and singers of Belgian blues scene. He has an extensive experience and currently he leads his Dutchmen, presenting a wide list of live shows both in Belgium and Netherlands.

This is their first album recorded in just two days for Belgian record label Naked, where the band shows that they not only are masters of 50’s Chicago blues, but also, they are able to walk steadily and comfortably move on styles like gospel, swing, boogie and swamp pop.

The recording gathers eleven songs, most of them own compositions, developed in a way that sometimes may sound raw and rough but other times intimate and relaxed, but always performed from the deepest part of their hearts with good doses of feeling.

Big Dave confirms his qualities as a harmonica player and singer, giving a substantial, powerful and consistent strength to his musical speech. The band is not far behind and includes a really experienced musicians like Mischa den Haring (T-99) on guitars, Roel Spanjers (Luther Allison, Smokey Wilson) on piano, Hammond B3, würlitzer and vocals, Dusty Ciggaar (Ian Siegal) on bass and Darryl Cigaar (Ian Siegal) on drums and vocals.

These musicians perfectly know how to give a twist to traditional blues, adding a different, personal and totally original air to their songs, thanks to very careful arrangements, which will surprise listeners with their fresh and, at the same time, good work. GREAT.
