Big Daddy Wilson is a powerful bluesman and a great singer who follows the tradition of the old unforgettable singers, because he only lives to sing the blues Wilson was born in Edenton, North Carolina more than fifty years ago, in a poor humble family, as were many other Afroamerican families, but he grew up in a neighborhood where he enjoyed a friendly, close and familiar atmosphere Our man keeps warm memories of those times in which his life ran among school, tobacco plantation and Sunday services in his local church Daddy Wilson has enjoyed a profitable idependent life which has allowed him to reach a rich creative status, keeping alive and preserving the essence of blues, performing in many and different places This is an intimistic relaxed album where Wilson shows us his fine sensibility He is backed by an exquisite acoustic duo formed by Jochen Bens acoustic guitar, Resonator, banjo, mandolin and backing vocals and Michael van Merwyk acoustic guitar, Resonator, Weissenborn and backing vocals, while Big Daddy Wilson is on vocals, percussion and has also written the thirteen songs included in the cd In short wortds, this is a sweet, poetical, tasteful and very sensitive record
