Excellent new piece of work by one of its actual and most faithful representatives of genuine real deal Chicago blues Big Bill Morganfield, son of legendary blues father Muddy Waters, gives us a restrained well balanced album, where swampy melodies and groovy fast and medium tempo shuffles prevail, driving us to deep south original juke joints that were the cradle of the eldest and most genuine blues Eleven intense vital songs, where Big Bill’s voice becomes the best vitaminic sound for our ears and spirit An album with a good dose of vigorous energy, together with guitar players Eddie Taylor Jr, Bob Margolin, Colin Linden and Brian Bisesi, harmonica players Richard ‘Doc’ Malone and Steve Guyger, pianists Augie Meyers and Clark Stern and saxo player Jim Horn All them have been supported by an spectacular rhythm section with Chuck Cotton on drums and Tom ‘Mookie’ Brill on bass An album where one can breathe with nostalgia the spirit of Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Junior Parker, Memphis Slim, Willie Dixon and some other great blues names Also mention that seven of the eleven cd songs are Big Bill Morganfield’s own ones After listening to it I can only say this is a totally joyful album
