Following his wife’s clever advice who suggested him to release an instrumental album, Bernie Pearl looked carefully into his archives and realized that, with the material he had from Harvey “Harmonica Fats” Blackston, John Henry “Papa” Creach and his own one, he had enough to produce an instrumental recording with the solidity and quality necessary to recognize the value of these two musicians he had regularly worked and toured with.

Bernie Pearl and his band had been playing with “Harmonica Fats” and, in 1991, Bernie co-produced his first album “Nasty” which included some Fats’ own compositions plus some instrumental tracks performed in a jam way. On the other hand, Bernie met “Papa” Creach through piano player Henry Butler, starting a collaboration between both musicians that led them to release his first solo album “Papa Blues” in February 1992, which included some guests, besides Creach’s suggestive voice and his unmistakable violin that good fans already knew from the time he was member of Hot Tuna. This recording was awarded with a Handy Award by the Blues Foundation.

With songs selected from “Nasty” and “Papa Blues” cds plus some Bernie Pearl’s own compositions, you will face an album that includes fourteen songs especially recommended for all those who love to enjoy with a good selection of well performed tracks, developed with an amazing musical taste and, at the same time, pay tribute to three great names of popular music, in this case blues, like Harmonica Fats, Papa John Creach and Bernie Pearl.
