Here comes another album by one of blues and boogie-woogie piano players of the new generation. His name is Ben Levin and, despite his youth, he can already be considered as a veteran of these styles, as he has got a huge respect and admiration of fans.

In addition of an excellent piano player, Ben Levin is also a more than interesting singer, songwriter and leads his own band too. He has already published three albums for Richard Rosenblatt’s label, Vizztone Records, and now he presents the fourth one for the same label, that includes twelve songs where he tastefully combines own compositions with other less known and dark covers coming from Otis Smothers, Brownie McGhee or Eddie Taylor among others.

Levin has always learned from the great classic blues names and, for the recording, he has surrounded himself by some of the living legends who have inspired him most, such as Bob Stroger, Lil’ Ed Williams or Lil’ Jimmy Reed, together with other very interesting musicians who also participate in the recording like, for example, Johnny Burgin, Noah Wotherspoon or his father Aron Levin.

Levin’s respect and admiration for all these incredible masters will be immediately discovered if you listen to the album and see how Ben Levin passionately and intensely plays piano, displaying his most sincere feeling and always giving the best of himself. As Bob Corritore says in the album liner notes, this recording is a good example of the intergenerational bridge blues is able to create.
