Settled in Madrid although he was born in Granada in Andalucía, Fernando Beiztegui is now one of the Spanish bluesmen with most personality and charisma His intense feeling both on guitar and vocals (his particular voice sometimes reminds the one of artists like Sam Chatmon or his colleague Edu Big Hands) make him be a unique musician who is gifted with a huge talent to perform the blues If we add he has also an exquisite taste when he selects his repertoire, then we can say Fernando has become a top notch who deserves to be listened carefully Now he has just released Wood Session, an acoustic album that includes ten tastefully well-arranged own songs where he alternates deep Delta blues with Piedmont or rag time, among other old vintage sounds Simply with the elegance of his guitar, his particular heartbreaking voice and the collaboration of Manuel Moreno and Nono Mellado on harmonica in some songs, Fernando is able to give us a restrained album but, at the same time, full of musical beauty and a very traditional character This is a recording with an amazing sensitivity that deserves the full attention of all good acoustic blues fans
