Most Spanish blues fans know well Granada coming bluesman Fernando Beiztegui, especially in his acoustic facet. Gifted with a rough hoarse voice as well as an undeniable guitar technique, he shows himself as a very versatile artist who has displayed his good blues all over Spain. Unlike his previous album “Wood Session”, recorded solo in acoustic format, Fernando Beiztegui now surprises us with an electric album supported by his band, done in Habitacion 101 studios in Granada. His performing reliability allows him to develop a varied repertoire, quite different from his acoustic one, where listeners will appreciate the wide nuances of an artist like him. To do so, he has surrounded himself with a band that includes Antonio Mellado on harmonica in the songs “Hot Stew Blues” and “Nono’s Boogie” plus production and recording supervision, Guille Nother on drums and David Martín on bass, all of them Granada coming musicians. He has also counted with some guests like Paul Sanmartín on piano in the song “Song For Adriana”, Manuel Moreno (El Loco de la Carolina) on harmonica in the songs “Sweet Liquor Blues” and “Back Home” and finally David Carrasco on sax. So here comes a more than interesting album that clearly shows Spanish blues is in good health.
