Here comes a great album with two outstanding singers, who vocally talk to each other and give the best of themselves on a pair of live shows recordings. Bev Conklin and her friend Lea Gilmore give us an straight hard heartrending cd, perfectly backed by Bev’s band, ‘The Blues Crew’ plus a piano player master, Eric Byrd who is really inspired on the tunes he performs. A traditional cool repertoire with songs like Sippie Wallace’s “Women Be Wise”, “See See Rider’”, “Rock Me Baby”, “Hallelujah I Love Him So”, “What’d Say” or “Hoochie Coochie Man” among other delicious tunes performed in good complicity among musicians. A powerful but at the same time relaxed record to be slowly savoured and deeply enjoyed again and again.
