It is quite difficult nowadays to find white women who sing twenties and thirties blues and jazz, but it is still more difficult they know to perform them with the special good taste, emotional feeling and property they require and, over all, with the elegant way Barbara Martin does it Besides some blues, on this Touch The Sky Barbara Martin has chosen a more ‘jazzy flavour’ style than on her previous work She gives us a very cool intimist repertoire with some songs written together with guitar player Mac Walter and some own compositions as well She has also included different small treasures like Irving Berlin’s Blue Skyes but also Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Stormy Weather, Them There Eyes, There Will Never Be Another You or Sippie Wallace’s You Got To Know How she respectfully admires In short words, a collection of delicious songs with the elegant distinctive scent of Barbara Martin’s gifted voice
