The Bananafish is a Boston based band from the nineties. Since then on the band has been working regularly with some occasional stops. This double album is a collection of songs of those years, coming from recordings that were only sold at their live shows with no other commercial distribution. With this double album the group wants to celebrate their twenty-fifth anniversary on the road.

The Bananafish are led by singer, songwriter and guitar player Fordham Murdy, well known among fans as Reverend Freakchild, a musician heavily influenced by Jerry Garcia and, in general, by the Grateful Dead, as well as by Frank Zappa and his Mothers Of Invention. The band also includes Dan Simone on piano, organ and keyboards, Ben Chen and Ry Cavanaugh on bass, while drums are performed by Joe Bulkin, Dave Barrett and Marcus Gratama.

Twelve vocal songs and seven instrumentals have been chosen from recordings done in old tapes during the years 93, 94 and 96, with the songs they used to perform at concerts and jam sessions in Boston. After a hard difficult re-mastering process, basically this double album presents a collection of progressive and underground rock with touches of jazz rock, Celtic music, and progressive West Coast music. Reverend Freakchild has always loved to improvise and jamming, something you will immediately notice listening to all these cool and fresh songs that communicate optimism and fun from the beginning to the end.
