Paul Waring and Pete Galanis are two regular guitar players at Chicago blues clubs. Both often met playing and jamming in some of these clubs so a good and deep friendship immediately appeared between them. Galanis also owned a recording studio where they both spent hours chatting, rehearsing and drinking beers. From there came the Bad Daddy Band which released a first album.

During the pandemic timed Waring devoted himself to write a handful of good songs and, one of those afternoons they were in the studio, he showed them to Pete. They began working together to record and release this album that includes nine original Paul Waring’s songs plus a cover of Mighty Sam McClain’s “Where You Been So Long.” Paul Waring is on vocals and guitars, while Pete Galanis is on guitars too as well as supervising the whole recording process, Elton Jaan is on Hammond, Ari Seder on bass, Jason “JROC” Edwards on drums, and finally Andrea Miologos and Bree Gordon on backing vocals.

The chemistry that arises between the two musicians can immediately be noticed, not only in the songs development but also in the excellent final production of this interesting album.

If you like contemporary blues in the path of Tinsley Ellis, Tommy Castro or Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, this album will be a special gift to you.
