Singer Jeni Grouws and guitar player Chris Abey met at a blues jam session at Muddy Waters, a Mississippi riverside club between Iowa and Illinois states In 2017 they founded their own band including Randy Leasman on bass and Brian West on drums The group has been two times semi-finalist at the International Blues Challenge in 2018 and 2020, dazzling the audience with Jeni Grouws’ passionate and straight voice and Chris Abey’s guitar technique, which has been compared with those of Coco Montoya or Robben Ford With these credits they now present their first release with ten original songs coming from Jeni and Chris where, besides the just mentioned musicians, you will also find Nick Vasquez on keyboards, Nolan Schroeder on sax and Dan Meyer on trumpet, although these last two musician only play in the song Two Days Off (And A Little Bit Of Liquor) Rock, Americana, blues and Mississippi music can be found along the whole album, always with a big dose of good taste, strength and amazing intensity
